March 2014: Special Events

When you are hungry, you eat food.  But what do you feed your soul when your soul is hungry? Have you been feeding your soul with anything good? Like reading a good book, looking at a piece of beautiful artwork, or taking a walk in nature? Another way to satisfy your soul's needs is to do yoga and meditation. Take time to  attend classes or events that will make your soul happy! In addition to that, connecting with fellow yoga students is good for your soul too!

Tuesday, March 18: Meditation and Mantra with Guru Simran Singh
This month we are learning all about Celestial Communication. Celestial Communication is a beautiful way to meditate through movement with music/mantra. 
"This is a system in which body, self, the word, the rhythm, the permutations, the combinations, the harmony is created for getting the neurons in the grain out of fatigue, Its brain exercise. It's subtle and it's very effective."

"... There's no power more than the power of the word, and when the word is formed through the body, and when the word is performed through the body, the entire being is purified, relaxed."

"Celestial communication is a sadhana in which you communicate with the infinite God through your body, mind, and soul... The shabd is there, sound current is there. Rhythm is there. Projection is there. The mind has to direct the body to copy, therefore mind is there. Mind can't goof, can't go anywhere. And, the body is there. So that is the way to interlock all the three.

Come join us as we take the sacred sounds of shabds and pair the movements that express the meanings of the shabd through the movements of our mudras in space.. Pure Dance, Pure Consciousness.

About Erin: 

Erin Finkelstein is a Feldenkrias ® Practitioner and professional clarinetist. After finishing her musical training and somatic education, she lived in Northern California pursuing a dual career as an orchestral musician, and as a Feldenkrais ® Awareness Through Movement teacher. 



Erin has worked with hundreds of college students, musicians, teachers and performers to increase body awareness and neuro-muscular organization. She enjoys working with clients from all backgrounds to help them fulfill their potential through group Awareness Through Movement lessons and private Functional Integration lessons.
