Food Drive at Winter Yoga Festival 2015

Winter Yoga Festival is managed by a group of yogis and yoginis who care deeply, who want to do lots of good in this world and build our community. Please be ready to attend the festival on December 5, 2015, to have some good, clean fun, and at the same time, perform a good deed, make a difference in someone's life.

We are hosting a food drive a the Winter Yoga Festival. We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with Caring Coalition to collect food items for those in need. Please help make this festival even more meaningful, bring a NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEM to donate when you come to the festival. There will be a donation collection station in our courtyard. And please refer to the message below for guidelines on what kind of food items to donate (we also accept donation of new, unwrapped toys).

Caring Coalition, also a local non profit organization, provides food for individual families who are identified by schools to need assistance to sustain them over school, weekend and holiday breaks. 

A message from Caring Coalition:

"Caring Coalition is so grateful for your participation in this food drive.
We are committed to maintaining a highest standard of nutrition possible for the children on our service. At the same time we try to choose foods that are appealing to children. Please see the pictures for the foods we use. Please choose from these suggestions if possible. Thank you for your kindness."

If you need help to find these food items, here is a list of the stores where you can find them:

The veggie baked bean are available at some Targets and  all Fry's.

Goldfish - Costco

Annie's bunny snacks - Costco

Capri sun, must be 100% juice - Safeway, Fry's  and Costco

Horizon Organic Milk - Safeway, Sprouts and Fry's ( cheapest at Fry's )

Gogo apple squeeze - available everywhere cheapest at Costco, there is also a Kirkland brand that is basically the same

The 3 oz cans of Frito Lay bean dip are available at convenience stores. Some stores will order by the case for you if you ask them. If you tell them what it is for they may give you a discount

Stretch Island Fruit leathers - Safeway and Costco

Honey Nut cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch - at CVS and at Costco Business center in cases

Annie's fruit snacks - Whole Foods , Costco , Sprouts

Cheez-its - Costco

Larabars - most Costco's , Sprouts , Wholefoods

More suggestion for donation: 
Applesauce, fruit cups, cereal bars, granola bars, fig bars, fruit rolls ups, fruit leathers, wholegrain chips and veggie sticks, individual cereal boxes, milk in individual boxes that don't require refrigeration, wholegrain crackers, cheese crackers, fresh apples, bananas, oranges, 100% juice boxes or packets.

Individual serving sizes of non-perishable packaged foods only. We aim for 100% fruit and fruit juice, as well as wholegrain choices when possible. Healthful foods are best! NO NUTS.
Please keep in mind, we DO NOT serve foods that contain any of the following:

More than 22 grams of sugar per serving
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Corn Syrup
Yeast Extract, Monosodium Glutamate or Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein
Chemical Additives
