Mommy & Me Yoga (6 Weeks to Crawling)

Update on December 22, 2014: Mommy and Me (6 weeks to crawlers) is taking a break. Please check back later for the 2015 schedule.

One of the best things that parents can do for their young children is to let them practice yoga. Research has shown that yoga can benefit babies and parents in so many ways.

According to this article from Yoga Journal, praciticnig yoga with baby can:
  • help parents to bond with their baby.
  • help baby's growth and development.
  • help baby to build muscles.
  • help baby's coordination which will later contribute towards learning to walk.
  • be a good way to enjoy your time with your baby
In addition to the benefits listed above, a yoga class is also a good place for parents and baby to socialize with other families.

Yoga Phoenix offers Mommy & Me Yoga Class for babies (6 weeks to crawling) every Friday at 9:30am-10:30am (dads can join too!). Moms and dads, don't be stuck at home and feel isolated from the rest of the world. Why not bring your baby to class, meet other parents and learn gentle, soothing yoga techniques that can help you and your baby to bond and to relax!

Kewal Kaur (Cathie) is the teacher of this class. She is a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher and graduated from the Kundalini Teachers Training Program at Yoga Phoenix. Kewal has been practicing Kundalini Yoga since she was 15. She is a very experienced teacher, especially with teaching children and seniors.

Kewal Kaur taught yoga and meditation at Yoga Phoenix's Kids Yoga Festival, 2013.
